a. Shift Theory Counseling is a sole-owner private practice, which allows you to receive focused, personalized support without the barriers that sometimes come with larger agencies. This means:
i. Consistent care with the same therapist, building trust and deeper therapeutic work
ii. Greater flexibility in scheduling, so sessions can align with your life and needs
iii. A more personalized, client-centered approach, tailored to your goals and pace

a. I do offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for individuals facing financial hardship. Please contact me directly for more details and information

a. I do accept commercial insurance! A list of all accepted insurance plans can be found here

a. I do accept individuals who are out of network or who opt in for self pay. I can also provide a superbill for those who are wanting to use out of network benefits. I always advise that you speak with your insurance carrier if you are deciding to explore out of network benefits.

a. I offer a limited number of evening appointments each week, depending on overall availability. I also offer a few Saturday morning sessions, which are scheduled based on current openings

a. I work with adults 18+. If you are looking for therapy for an adolescent, please still reach out, as I do have a large referral network of providers that may be able to assist!

a. Yes. You are welcome in therapy whether you’re sober-curious, currently using substances, in early recovery, or maintaining long-term recovery. This is a judgment-free space to explore what you need. I only ask that clients come to sessions not under the influence, so we can make the most of our time together.

a. I offer telehealth services to clients anywhere in Ohio, as well as in-person sessions at my Lakewood, Ohio office! Individuals who receive telehealth services must be a resident of Ohio and be located in Ohio at the time of service.

a. Yes! I am a LGBTQIA+ affirming provider and support all relationship structures, family systems and identities.

a. Absolutely. Your information stays private with the exception of safety concerns or mandated reporting requirements (which we will review during our intake appointment)
